About Joshua

I am a guide for people who want more. More connection to the people they love the most. More joy in the present. More freedom from the things that hold them back. More grace for themselves and others. If you suspect you’re missing out on a deeper, fuller life, I can help guide you to where you want to go.

I am also a guide for those whose paths lead them through the valley of the shadow of death. That’s a path I’ve walked myself as a widower and single parent to three young children. The most important things about grief can’t be learned in a book or podcast; they are meant to be faced with a trusted guide who can bear witness to the pain and point to a way forward. The best guides are those who have walked the path before. Whether recent or past loss, literal or figurative, I can guide you through the valley. That’s where I believe the Good Shepherd wants to meet you.

Why work with Joshua?

  • "Joshua is a fantastic guide! His warmth and curiosity created a safe and inviting environment for me to explore many of my formative life experiences. Joshua carries a particular wisdom into the room, gently asking insightful questions and engaging the complexity of these formative stories with nuance and care. Simply put, I experienced a lot of healing in my time meeting with him and am so thankful!"

    —D., Former Client

  • “Amidst a busy season of life and ministry Joshua helped me slow down and deeply explore my core desires and motivations. No matter what we unearthed he always moved toward me with the grace and kindness of a good, wise friend. The soul care and pastoral coaching he provides is immensely beneficial."

    —J., Lead Pastor

  • "I have witnessed the gifting that Joshua brings when engaging a story and it is delightful. Joshua offers a gentle, deep-seeing presence while embodying precision in naming difficult truths with kindness. Joshua is an expert at reading and engaging the parts of stories that keep us bound and is willing to sit in the tension of the bind compassionately and without judgement. I highly recommend Joshua as a wise companion in story work."

    —Steven, LPC, Allender Center Fellow

  • "Joshua's approach to engaging deep matters of the heart is unique and powerful! He is highly collaborative - working with you to discover your story and heartache together. His questions and thoughtful reflections are things I never would have come to on my own. I have engaged my story with numerous people - something about Joshua's engagement with my story was different. He didn't shy away from the places I could easily hide with other people. I felt like he invited me to bring my dark, heavy burdens into the light with such pastoral care and acceptance - no judgement! It felt like a taste of experiencing God's unconditional love. That's the type of thing that changes you!"

    A., Story Group Participant

  • “Joshua’s warm, calm, inviting presence, together with penetrating but gently formulated questions combined to create a safe environment in which to explore the issues beneath the surface that shape me today. One session with Joshua produced more insight than a year with a former therapist.”

    —D., Retired Minister

  • "It is an incredible blessing to work with Joshua. He brings such amazing clarity and insight that has given me such helpful understanding and new perceptions - truly astounding! I have felt so very well held in my whole being by Joshua. His care is so very solid, grounded and authentic in a world of confusion and heartache. Joshua is someone I heartily and sincerely trust with my story and my very soul!”
